What If Light WasAnother Tool Worth Exploring?

There are plenty of ways to spend money on wellness these days. New supplements. New devices. New promises about what our bodies might be capable of.

If you’re curious too, I’d love to show you what I’ve been learning.

An introduction to the technology, the research, and ways to explore it.

Susan Gladstein

One technology that genuinely caught my attention is LifeWave, a collection of wearable, non-transdermal patches that the company describes as using reflected light rather than delivering ingredients through the skin.

It’s different from the kinds of wellness tools most of us are familiar with. Naturally, I wanted to understand how it works, what the research actually shows, and where it might fit into a thoughtful approach to health and human performance.

A Wearable Patch. A Different Approach.

Most of us are used to products that give the body something: a nutrient, an ingredient, or an electrical signal. LifeWave describes its patches differently. They are designed to be worn on the skin and are described by the company as reflecting wavelengths of the body’s own light.

That’s an interesting concept, but an explanation of how a product is designed is not the same as proof of a health outcome. Different LifeWave products have different claims and different levels of supporting evidence, so it’s worth looking at each one on its own merits.

My approach is simple: understand the technology, ask good questions, and never confuse curiosity with a guarantee.

I Love Discovering New Possibilities. I’m Also a Big Fan of Asking Questions.

Working in holistic health has made me curious about the way our bodies work, and just as curious about the technologies people are developing to support them.

LifeWave caught my attention because it takes a different approach to wearable technology. I’ve spent time learning about its products and connecting with people who use and study them. I’m continuing to ask what the available research supports, what is still being investigated, and how to make sense of the marketing around it.

That matters to me because I don’t want wellness to become another full-time job. I want tools, when they’re useful, to serve the life we’re trying to live, not become the whole point of it.

And I’m especially interested in thoughtful conversations with practitioners who want to examine these technologies responsibly.

Want to Understand the Technology? Start With the Actual Information.

You don’t need a science degree to ask smart questions. What does a particular patch claim to do? How was it studied? How large were the studies? What do they tell us, and what don’t they tell us?

I’m putting together a collection of approved introductory materials, product-specific research links, and straightforward resources so you can explore those questions for yourself.

You’ll find company information alongside appropriate context about the limits of the available evidence. And if you’d rather talk it through, there will be a way to ask questions.

There’s More Than One Reason to Be Curious.

Some women are simply looking for another wellness tool to learn about. Others are health professionals who want a deeper discussion about evidence, client suitability, and business considerations. Both are welcome here.

The Goal Isn’t to Collect Every Wellness Tool. It’s to Have More Life to Enjoy.

I’m raising little ones in a season of life I didn’t see coming. Becoming a mom again in my 40s, and getting a different kind of motherhood chapter after retiring from the Air Force, has made me think even more about the years ahead.

I want to keep showing up for the things that matter: traveling, eating incredible food, learning from people in other places, and making memories with my family. I’m curious about the science because I care about that life, not because I want to spend every waking hour optimizing it.

That’s the spirit in which I share LifeWave and the other tools I explore through Rooted Reset™: curious, thoughtful, and always keeping the bigger picture in view.

CURIOUS? THAT’S A GOOD PLACE TO START.

You Don’t Have to Decide Anything Today.

Learn a little. Ask a question. Look at the information. See whether it deserves a place in your own conversation about health or in your professional work.

And if it’s not the right tool for you? That’s useful clarity, too.
